AMEX Express Checkout - Newegg Cancel your $0.30 Item? Don't Worry, Yet

The last 2 days have been amazing for American Express cardholders.

With the introduction of AMEX Express Checkout, AMEX was giving out $10 per AMEX card at a number of merchants.

Newegg and Ticketmaster were real moneymakers.

Trouble hit this afternoon with a slew of cancellations from Newegg.  It seems that the seller didn't do a great job of monitoring their inventory and decided to cancel lots of orders.

It's interesting that the email says that the customer decided to cancel, which I and others most certainly did not.

Now that orders are cancelled, the question is whether the credits will come through.  My prediction is that the credits will come through anyways.  I can't say that for sure but there is nothing to lose here.  Let's wait a week, see if the credits post.  If they don't, we can all go back and buy game codes for $0.40 which don't run out.

I would also recommend contacting newegg customer service asking why it says the orders were cancelled when you didn't cancel the orders.

American Express $10 per Card Credits Posted - Works for Every Card and Even if You Don't Spend $10! Time to Buy Lots of Game Codes!

Miles to Memories has put out the results today from his experiments and the results are wonderful.

American Express Express Checkout was giving out $10 credits for the first time you used the card per account.  It turns out that it works the first time you use the express checkout for every card, even if they are linked to the same account.

In addition, you don't need to spend $10 for the credits post.  If you spend $0.99, you can keep the extra $9.01

Here is a list of cheap items you can buy from Newegg.  Enjoy the free money!

American Express Launches Amex Express Checkout - $10 Statement Credit at Select Merchants

Update 3: AMC gift cards can be sold for $6.50 to ABC gift cards so that's another one.  Groupon gift cards can be bought but I don't know if they can sold as eGift Card anywhere.

Update 2:  Within 20 minutes the eGift Card arrived and I immediately sold it to ABC Gift Cards for $7.70.  Very quick transaction!  I tried to buy a second one with a new account and newegg cancelled my order.  They said one order per 48 hours of the same item.  So I guess this will be of limited benefit until we find a new gift card worthwhile to buy.

Update:  Newegg sells Visa Gift Cards (I would buy the $50 version for the greatest percentage back with a $2.99 shipping charge) and other third party gift cards.  I would buy the eGift Cards if possible to save on shipping.
$10 Home Depot eGift Card can be sold to ABC Gift Cards for 77% so you should get $7.70 for free.

Extrabux (My referral link) gives 1.5% cashback and doesn't exclude gift cards from the cashback so you should earn 1.5% extra cashback.

American Express launched Amex Express Checkout today which allows you to use your existing account information at select merchants.  Just login as you would regularly to American Express' website and you will be able to pay.

Unfortunately, you can only use an American Express card to checkout.

The good news is that they are offering a 1 time $10 statement credit at specific merchants.
