My Go To Gift Card Buyers and CardCash's Great Customer Service

I do some opportunistic gift card reselling every once in a while.  When you choose the right deals, the risks are low and the returns can be decent.

I have come to learn that where you sell your gift cards to matters almost as much, if not more, than the rate you receive.

I will no longer sell to Gift Card Rescue or JunkCard (I don't think Junkcard is accepting new gift cards anyways).

Gift Card Rescue took a long time to pay out, required extra information and threatened to hold funds hostage from my people and changed payouts on others.  In the end, their CEO intervened and everyone got paid (let me know if you didn't).

JunkCard also took a long time to pay, was bouncing checks and didn't acknowledge a large transaction of mine.  They didn't respond to emails so I threatened a lawsuit (it would have been worth it) and I was finally paid.

Either way, it was not worth the hassle and stress for a couple extra percent.

My Favorite Gift Card Buyers

I now stick with the big guns for the most part:  Raise, Gift Card Zen, Cardpool, CardCash and I'm just starting out with Gift Card Mart.

Turnaround is quick, they often pay with ACH payments, accept eGift Cards and the companies are reliable and interested in a long term profitable relationship, not making an extra buck off you short term.

There may be others that deserve to be on this list, but I don't have much experience with others so I won't mention them.  I have had good results with SaveYa but I can't say the same for others and they have some intense limits on their Bulk Sellers.

CardCash Customer Service 

In addition, the bigger companies have customer service that is usually excellent.  Here is one example from CardCash:

Back at the end of August, I talked about a Gift Card deal.  One of the deals involved buying $100 76 Brand Gas Gift Cards for $90 and selling them for $92 to CardCash.

By mistake, when I was selling to CardCash, I entered the value as $90 (the price I paid) instead of $100.  That could have been a big problem.  They could have kept the extra funds themselves and only sent it to me if I realized.  It has happened on other exchanges.

I received this email from CardCash

They verified the gift cards and saw that there was $100, not $90 and automatically paid me $92.  I am very happy with all of my transactions with them so far.

PSA - You Should Still Never Use Gift Card Rescue - Changing Buying Prices on You

A while back I posed a PSA to not use Gift Card Rescue.  After you send in your gift cards, they sent many people emails stating that if you don't give them certain documents, you can consider your gift cards a donation.

Miles to Memories joined with his own PSA and DoC said he will no longer sell to them.

Their responses on twitter weren't all that impressive either.

I have stopped selling to them even when it could have been more lucrative, which was on more than one occasion.

To be fair, my sale has gone through (so far) without another hitch,  though I am still waiting for the check.   I was emailed that they will pay me the full amount they said.

I completely agree with this post on Gift Card Rescue. This is a WARNING from myself. These guys are SHADY!!! I was quoted at $200 for my gift cards and immediately sent them in. I then get an email stating they received them and that the offer has been lowered to $160 for no reason!!! I can either have them sent back to me or I can just accept this price. I don't care how good the offer was, I wouldn't sell these or any other gift cards in the future to these guys! So I give them a call and the lady has enough nerve to tell me that they usually require the seller to send a self addressed stamped envelope back, but they'll take of that for me. HOW NICE OF THEM!!! Also, if I happened to not respond to them in 30 they just keep the cards and consider them "abandoned". Something needs to be done about this business.

I received the similar email and sent all the receipt etc. documents. At the end giftcardrescue still rejected my sale (they said they reserve the rights to do so). My disaster is not the rejection of the sale, I am completely ok if they reject my sale. But they have to return all my cards to me. The awful thing they did to me was that giftcardrescue mailed me back an empty envelop (with a tracking number as the prof for delivery) with no cards in it and claimed that it is the USPS lost my cards and they are not responsible at all. Can you believe that a company whose business rely on packing and shipping will pack $4700 cards(in $50 value of each card) in a format that would allow all of them fall out completely in the 2 days priority mail delivery? I hope orensmoneysaver and others who still doing business with giftcardrescue will not receive an empty envelop ever and you will get paid or receive the cards purchased or need to be returned ect.. Hope all of you good luck and no need to suffer the lose I experienced with giftcardrescue. If any of you had the similar experience and would like to join a classic lawsuit , please contact me. Thank you.

Once again, please do not use Gift Card Rescue as you are risking losing your merchandise or getting less than what was promised.  If you have had a bad experience, you can also file a report with the Better Business Bureau or the Attorney General's office.

Gift Card Rescue Responds

Yesterday I posted a PSA about Gift Card Rescue and I tweeted at them on Twitter so that they would be aware of the issue.

The email Gift Card Rescue sent to me and others threatened to keep the gift cards as a donation if they weren't verified within 30 days.  You were also required to send in a picture of your ID and sign a contract after you've already sent in your gift cards with seemingly no recourse other than to "donate" your cards.

Don't Ever Use Gift Card Rescue

Shawn over at Miles to Memories talked about some possible issues that can be involved in selling to Gift Card Rescue specifically.

I want to share my experience with them and a warning to not use them when reselling.

I recently tried to sell TGI Friday gift cards to them.  I sent in $500 worth of gift cards hoping for a $400 payout.

The gift cards were sent in the mail on June 30th and I got an email today that they were received, which is great.

The other part of the email was extremely disturbing:

Sign up For Gift Card Rescue - Possible $5 off $100 Coupon Code a Few Days Later

I signed up for Gift Card Rescue on June 29th so that I could sell some gift cards from them.

On July 2nd, I received a welcome email from them with a coupon code for $5 off my next order of $100.

If you are interested in buying a gift card from them, sign up and you will probably also get a coupon code a few days later.

Keep in mind Miles to Memories post that they may not have the best reviews so be aware.
