You can register now for Small Business Saturday.


Every eligible American Express credit card can get up to $30 of statement credits for free.

The credits are in $10 increments so you need to spend $10 on each card 3 times to take full advantage.  If you spend $30 once you will only get $10.

I have always used my cards to get gift cards to one store.  The gift cards can then be combined later.



This year, Small Business Saturday is November 29th 2014.   A limited number of cards can be registered so you don't want to wait too long after today to register

Terms and Conditions:

• Every American Express credit card that has a separate 15 digit account number on the front can be registered separately.   
• Authorized users from credit card accounts that are processed by American Express and issued by American Express have a separate account number on the front and the authorized user card can be registered for a separate $30. Just look at the front of your Authorized user and you will see a different 15 digit number than the primary. 
• American Express Every Day is an example.
• Authorizes users from credit card accounts that are processed by American Express, but are issued by another company will have the same 15 digit account number as the primary and are not eligible for a separate promotion.
• Fidelity American Express is an example, which is processed by American Express, but issued by FIA Card Services.
• Prepaid and Gift cards do not work for these promotions, except Serve and Bluebird (Bluebird added this year)
• Serve allows for up to 4 subaccounts which should also be eligible.
• Personal business cards are eligible, but corporate cards are not.

Extreme Savings on Sodastream from Amazon and American Express!

Register your American Express cards and you can get $25 off a $75 purchase from Amazon.  The price is now down to $55!

$16.75 off
This kit qualifies for a $25 Credit from Amazon (expires at the end of 2014 so you have plenty of time to use it).  If you use Amazon a lot this is equal to around $16.75 (you can buy gift cards for 33% off as mentioned before so it isn't worth as much right now) so you price goes down to $38.25!


$10-$15 off
The kit also qualifies for a Mail in Rebate for a free exchange on your carbonater, which normally costs $15 without any coupons.  Assuming you have a $5 off coupon from Bed Bath and Beyond this will save you another $10.



Your final price is now $28.25!  This is an amazing price for a sodastream kit!


If you want the larger version, it will cost you a very low $55, but still very cheap.

• Best Buy Reward Zone gift cards can be used to buy Amazon gift cards!
• Back in November, I talked about getting some free money from American Express and Best Buy ($14 per American Express card).  Along with the free money, you also get a $5 Best Buy Gift Card for every $250 you spend.  The problem is that they expire and I have little interest in much of what Best Buy sells. 
•  I had one last American Express card to use at Best Buy and I already had $20 worth of gift card.  I found out that the Best Buy gift cards will work on Amazon gift cards, even though they don't work on Visa or non expiring Best Buy gift cards.  With my last credit card, I bought $225 worth of Amazon gift cards for $185 for a discount of 17.8%! $20 off from gift cards and $20 off from American Express.  I already got my email from American Express telling me that I will get $20 back.
• Amazon gift cards are disguised as Kindle gift cards in the computer section (at least in my store), but they work on any Amazon purchase

• Exchange your Soda stream carbonator at Bed Bath and Beyond 
• My Soda stream finally ran out of gas (pun intended).  I exchanged the carbonater at Bed Bath and Beyond for $15.  I used a $5 off $15 coupon for a total price of $10.  Not too shabby for 60L worth of carbonation :)
• Of course, I payed the $10 with a gift card I got for returning a bent knife 3 and a half years after I bought it in a different Bed Bath and Beyond (they don't even carry it in my local store) without any receipt.  They have one of best return policies of any store.
• I get $25 Bed Bath and Beyond gift certificates for $20 of Discover Card rewards, which is the equivalent of 25% off so a soda stream refill would normally cost a total of $7.50 instead of the full price fo $15!

• Top CashBack confirmed my $3.75 for "buying" the McAfee Virus protection, free after Rebate.  You know me, I like free money.

American Express and XBox Live = More Free Money

American Express and XBox Live = More Free Money

As many of my readers are aware, American Express cards can give you amazing value outside of their cashback rewards programs.  There are promotions running all the time that can literally get you plenty of free money and savings on merchandise.

Here is a new one.  Sync your American Express card with your XBox Live account.  You will get a free $10 statement credit to your American Express card.



Every AMEX card I have (and I now have 10 to be exact if you include authorized users - only three which I pay an annual fee for - still worth it) has been worth over $100 to me and that is before Small Business Saturday, which is coming up and will be worth $25 for each card!



Just in the last year, there has been $20 off a $200 purchase at Best Buy ($14 free), which happened twice (another $14), $25 off a $25 purchase in five different places (I was able to get $80 of gift cards for free - a little more difficult to get good free money there), shop small $10 credit ($10 towards a purchase for free in three cities), $20 off a $20 purchase (I got a very cheap game), $10 off a $10 purchase in lower manhattan (I got a $2 flashdrive, you could have gotten a free $10 gift card too) and $5 off spending $5 at redbox and $25 per card for Small Business Saturday from last November.


This doesn't include the $150 you could have gotten for free for signing up for prepaid cards or the $25 per person for free (still going) for signing up for a different amex prepaid cards and the $10 per person for free once you have the prepaid card, but those don't have to do with credit cards and are not eligible for promotions.


If you don't have any American Express cards, get some!  If you aren't planning on using them for rewards, get the cards that don't have an annual fee like Blue Cash everyday, Blue Sky, Blue, Hilton HHonors or Clear.

These promotions are available for any American Express cards you have, regardless of whether there is annual fee.  Also, you are often eligible for a second bonus for any authorized users you add to your account (no extra fees, even if the original card has an annual fee the authorized user will be free).
