Target Removes 5% RedCard Discount on 3rd Party Gift Cards

For a long time, it was possible to buy 3rd party gift cards from Target.com on your RedCard and get a 5% discount. This was great for hard to find discounted gift cards like eBay though some got banned from buying anything from Target for buying these discounted gcs.

With the increased limits on eBay Gift Cards usage in place, it has been even harder to find discounted eBay gift cards and this will only make it harder to find on Raise.  I think you will see a lot of eBay gift cards selling for 0% or .01% off on eBay as the demand increases and supply cannot keep up.

Best Options Now

Your best options now are to either

1) Buy from Gyft with a Chase Ink card via PayPal to earn 5x Ultimate Rewards points.  The advantage is you can buy larger denominations this way (up to $500).  There are reports of bans for buying too much from Gyft buy others seem to be able to buy tens of thousands of dollars without a problem.  Buyer beware.

2) eBay Gift Cards from Staples.com  Unfortunately you can only buy eGift Cards from Staples.com in $100 increments and they do not come immediately (often the next day).  You can buy physical gift cards in $200 denominations but those come with $2 fees.  There was a time when portals paid out for gift cards from Staples.  That's long gone.  Doesn't hurt to try though - except me, it hurts me since it is an affiliate link ;)

3) You can buy directly on eBay from PayPal Digital Gifts which codes as 5x UR with Chase ink.

3) In store.  Use your ink at Staples stores, use a grocery credit cards at a grocery store etc.  That means I have to get off my lazy bottom and it also means you need to stock up to make sure they are available when you need them.  Probably not going to do that.

This is definitely bad news, but most definitely not catastrophic.  We will live another day.

Some Nice Gift Card Deals and A Toy Sale at Target

Here are a few deals for you:

1 - Buy a $300 Staples eGift Card and get a promo $50 eGift Card for free.  The deal will be running from now until 12/12 or when gift cards run out.

Promo eGift card can be used from 12/26 until 1/9/2016.

Limit one per customer which usually means one per email address.

You will not earn 5x UR points with Chase Ink so there is a trade off here.

2 - Earn a $20 Sears Gift Card with a $100 gift card purchase.  Check out the details there, highlights are that you can pay with your Discover to get 5% cashback and use a portal like eBates to earn 6% (their affiliate sign up is in the link)

3 - Target is having a Buy One Get One 50% off sale on certain brands.  There are definitely deals to be had.  Stick to things that are deals without the sale and you will do well for yourself.

Keep in mind that it is getting close to Christmas you may not be able to get everything into Amazon before then.

You can buy gift cards from Raise at up to 2,5% off Target gift cards.

You can buy from Gyft.  You will get 2% in gyft points if you don't use a portal but I recommend using a portal Use a portal when you purchase

Be Frugal is currently 2% for Gyft, so is Top Cashback and Giving Assistant

Make sure you use a portal for Target as well. Top Cashback is 2.25% at Target for whichever categories they pay for.

iPad Mini 4's $100 off at Staples Next Week! Buy Those Gift Cards on eBay Now!

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay, Staples, Amazon

Shawn of Miles to Memories sent me a tip to check out the staples circular for this coming week.  He said I would be happy and he was very right.

First of all, you should be buying Staples Gift cards for 15% off on eBay in anticipation of this.

Next week, Staples will running a sale on iPad mini 4s on Sunday and Monday.  They are $100 off, bringing the price down to $299.

Here is a link to the upcoming ad

Staples Black Friday Deals - iPad Mini 4 for $299 ($100 off)

Staples has released their ad for Black Friday.  Sales start on Thursday online.  Take a look at it.  It's quite interesting and I've identified a few products, but here is a deal that everyone can get in on.

It is the first legitimate sale on an iPad mini 4.

They are currently selling for $400 (full price) on Amazon and they probably won't move far from that.

20% off Select iPad Models at Staples - iPad Air 2 64GB $480 and 128GB for $560

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site: Staples, Amazon,

HT - DS via Email

Staples is having a 20% off sale on select iPad models.  The only one that was interesting to me as a reselling possibility was the iPad Air 2 64GB at $480 and the 128GB version at $550 (same link).

They are selling for about $530-$540 on Amazon.  If you sell at $535 (I'm going to try and sell for more than that - we'll see) you are just about breakeven with taxes, fees and shipping.  Now that obviously is not great on its own, but here is how we can juice it up a little bit.

Use Upromise for 5% cashback (email me for a referral (we both get $20 in a year) orensmoneysaver@gmail.com)

iPads 15% off at Staples - Use up your 15% off Gift Cards

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site: Amazon, Staples

HT - GGupta

Update: You can do the same thing if you buy Staples gift cards now. They are available for 8% off from Gift Card Mart and you will earn 2% cashback from your credit card.  It's not as good as 15% off, but it is pretty decent.  HT - GGupta

You can only use 5 gift cards at time so you might need to order one at time.  I would personally probably not order more than 2 due to Staples possibly banning due to excessive apple purchases.

Lately there have been a few Staples 15% off gift cards sales on eBay which are no longer going.  Now is a decent time to start thinking about using them on iPads at Staples which are 15% off.  You won't make much if you don't have the gift cards but you will be sitting pretty with them.

Here are few examples:

iPad Air 2 16GB - $75 off - $424 before tax
iPad Air 2 64GB - $90 off - $509 before tax

$300 Visa Gift Cards Available on Staples.com - Shameless Money Grab!

Staples is now selling $300 Visa Gift Cards online for an $8.95 fee, as reported by Dan's Deals tonight,

Many of you will be interested in buying these gift cards online with a Chase Ink car for 5x Ultimate Rewards points.  I won't comment on whether it is a good deal or not, but it is certainly better than the $200 denominations which were available until now.  Lower fees as a percentage of the gift cards and larger denominations are always better.

Considering there is no shopping portal which pays out for buying Visa Gift Cards at Staples, the "Keep Oren from Getting a Normal Job Fund" would definitely appreciate it if you were to use my link to buy them  ;)

I don't even know if I will get paid for it, but I'm willing to take the sacrifice and test it!

Use Best Buy Price Match from Staples on iPad Deal for Discover/Apple Pay Insanity!

Update: One reader points out that Staples accepts Apple Pay, that is another place to buy the iPads.  Since you can't buy $10,000 at once, you can go to both stores.

Chuck over at Doctor of Credit reported today that some Best Buy's are now starting to accept Apple Pay.

This leads us to our first Discover/Apple Pay insanity deal.

Earlier this week I reported a wonderful iPad deal at Staples.com.  iPad Air 2s are $150 off. I normally like to price match from Best Buy to Staples because of portals, Chase Ink and extremely generous Staples Rewards.

Let's do the reverse today, let's pricematch from Staples to Best Buy.

Does it work?  Here is the language from the Best Buy's Price Match Guarantee.

We won't be beat on price.

We'll match the product prices of key online and local competitors.

The Details:
  • At the time of sale, we price match all local retail competitors (including their online prices) and we price match products shipped from and sold by these major online retailers: Amazon.com, Bhphotovideo.com, Crutchfield.com, Dell.com, HP.com, Newegg.com, and TigerDirect.com.

The bold part is where we are going for.  Staples should be considered a local retailer (assuming there is one locally).  The iPad Air 2 deal at Staples is only found online for the 64GB version.  The 16GB version is found in the circular so you could pick up a circular and bring it just in case.  Based on their guarantee, they should match Staples online price.

So you will be forfeiting 5x Ultimate Rewards, up to 5% Staples Rewards, but earning up to 2.5% Best Buy Rewards and 22% from Discover.  Not too shabby!  I'm heading over to Best Buy once that iPhone comes through to check it out!

Here's the hitch:  They may not have any in stock, they may limit how many you can buy with the price match or the manager may decided to deny the pricematch even if it is legitimate, but if it works out, it's gold!

iPad Air 2s $150 off on Staples Website - Reselling Moneymakers

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:Amazon, Staples

Update: You can try to pricematch at Target for even greater savings.

Staples is selling all the various colors of iPad Air 2 for $150 off.

Here is the example math for the 64GB version which is selling for $450.  The same holds true for the 16GB and 128GB.  In general the smaller versions sell better, but you can't buy too many or they will label you as a reseller.  I think the 64GB version is a happy medium, they still sell very fast.

These sell for about $530- $550 on Amazon depending on the color.  Not quite as good a sale at the other iPad mini (which is dead) from last night, but the extras are much better from Staples than Best Buy.  You are basically going to breakeven or maybe make a little bit of money.

If you buy for $450 and you pay about $500 after taxes.  Your takehome is about $520 after fees if you are able to sell about $550 so you can possibly make $20.  If you sell closer to $530 it is more breakever.

Here are the extras you could earn

5x Ultimate Rewards points - ~2,500 points per laptop
5% cashback from Upromise Shopping Portal - $22.50 per iPad
up to 5% in Staples Rewards - Up to $22.50 per iPad.

These extras equal to over 10% profit margin.  Not too shabby!

Those extras are a big deal to me so I will likely take part in this deal just for the extras.

16GB is $450 and sells for about $430-$450 on Amazon depending on color
128GB is $550 and sells for about $650-$670 on Amazon depending on color

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site: Staples, Amazon

Today is a crazy day for me and I will be completely off the grid tonight until after Tuesday night (Happy Rosh Hashanah everyone!) so i won't give full details.  You should be able to figure out all the math yourself.

Rank #156 in monitors.

Use Chase Ink and you will earn 5x Ultimate Rewards points for the purchase.  Almost 500 points per monitor.

You Can Use 2 Staples $10 ePromo Gift Cards in One Purchase

Check out Big Habitat who has a great resell opportunity for an iPad, you can find all the details there.  If you don't follow him, you should.  His deals are awesome.

Yes, I know they are announcing new iPads.  I will probably hold on to it see what happens with the price for a couple of days after the announcement before I decide whether to send it in to Amazon.

iPads on Sale at Walmart - Resell Opportunity but Will be Slow Sale

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site: Amazon

Update: 32GB AT&T version is $350 on Walmart and $420 on Amazon.  Another possible deal. HT: Tgere79

Walmart is selling a few iPads at rock bottom prices.  There are 2 problems.  The first is that they are slow sellers and the second is that new iPads are coming out and the prices may get lower, fast or you may see more returns.  They are older versions so that may help, but you may have problems...

Here are the specs:

iPad Air 16GB with 4G from AT&T for $300 - There are 2 colors and you can buy 2 of each color.
iPad Air 16GB with 4G from Verizon for $300 from AT&T - There are 2 colors and you can buy 2 of each color.

AT&T version sells on Amazon for about $400
Verizon version also sells on Amazon for about $400
