Update to Staples iPad Deal -Target Price Match with 10% Cartwheel Coupon

HT - slickdeals

Update:  I went to Target and I was able to pricematch to Staples.com.  They were not sure whether they were allowed to do it, but they said only 1 pricematch item so it won't be the most lucrative trip even if you get the match.

I then asked to apply the cartwheel coupon which they were happy to do.  I used my RedCard and earned another 5% off. Final price was slightly under $400.  I should earn $100-$120 for the one iPad.  Not too shabby but I don't think I would go back just for another iPad.  Too easy for you to come away with nothing. YMMV.  If was going to Target anyways, I would buy an iPad while I was there.

You may go and they may not have them in stock, they many not pricematch for you, they many not allow you to use the cartwheel savings after the pricematch.

I published a deal this morning for a nice deal on staples.com.

There is a way to make this even sweeter at Target.  Target should pricematch to Staples.  Target is also offering 10% off iPads on their Cartwheel App (expires 9/26) with a maximum of 4 per transaction though they may not let you buy that many.

Limit of using the coupon 6 times per day so you could technically buy 24 but you will probably have to go to different Target stores to get that done.

I don't know if they will price match and then apply the coupon, but if they will, you can also get the 5% RedCard discount.

You also don't need to do one or the other, you can do both.

iPad Air 2s $150 off on Staples Website - Reselling Moneymakers

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:Amazon, Staples

Update: You can try to pricematch at Target for even greater savings.

Staples is selling all the various colors of iPad Air 2 for $150 off.

Here is the example math for the 64GB version which is selling for $450.  The same holds true for the 16GB and 128GB.  In general the smaller versions sell better, but you can't buy too many or they will label you as a reseller.  I think the 64GB version is a happy medium, they still sell very fast.

These sell for about $530- $550 on Amazon depending on the color.  Not quite as good a sale at the other iPad mini (which is dead) from last night, but the extras are much better from Staples than Best Buy.  You are basically going to breakeven or maybe make a little bit of money.

If you buy for $450 and you pay about $500 after taxes.  Your takehome is about $520 after fees if you are able to sell about $550 so you can possibly make $20.  If you sell closer to $530 it is more breakever.

Here are the extras you could earn

5x Ultimate Rewards points - ~2,500 points per laptop
5% cashback from Upromise Shopping Portal - $22.50 per iPad
up to 5% in Staples Rewards - Up to $22.50 per iPad.

These extras equal to over 10% profit margin.  Not too shabby!

Those extras are a big deal to me so I will likely take part in this deal just for the extras.

16GB is $450 and sells for about $430-$450 on Amazon depending on color
128GB is $550 and sells for about $650-$670 on Amazon depending on color

Next Time, We Buy Physical Gift Cards Instead...

Last week we saw two incredible eBay coupon codes which each took 15% off any order on eBay (up to $100 discount) that didn't last long. See Day 1 and Day 2 posts.

Here are a couple of takeaways from the deal:

The first day I was able to buy a MacBook as I suggested and I think many others were able to buy the same MacBook for a reselling play.

iPad Mini 3s 64GB on Sale at Best Buy - Reselling MoneyMaker

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site: Be Frugal, Amazon

Update: Price up to $450 :( - Dead for resellers

HT - TG via SlickDeals

Best Buy has a sale on iPad Mini 3s 64GB version which is very enticing.  They are $350 before tax, so let's call it $380 after tax

Gold version is sold out and the gray and silver are only available for store pickup.

The same iPads are available on Amazon for about $445.  Fees bring your takehome down to about $418 at a selling price of $445.  With shipping your takehome will be $413-$417 depending on how many you ship at once.  Let's assume $410 in case price goes down a little.

That's a profit of $30 per iPad.

Many Gift Cards Going on Sale on eBay (Not Live Yet) - Staples is Useful

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay, Inbox Dollar, Top Cashback

eBay is having a nice sale on some gift cards coming up.  These links will work once the deal goes live.  We won't know the limits until the deal is live.  I don't know how long it will take before it's live but it may be a few days or even a week.  I will put out a new post once I know it is live.  Please let me know with a comment or tweet (@orensmoneysaver) if you see that it is live and I have not posted yet.

For the most part this is good for those that are interested in using the gift cards, but there are some reselling moneymakers, especially if you count the 5% from Inbox Dollar or a 5% match from Top Cashback.

These are sold by PayPal Digital Gifts so they should qualify for 5x Ultimate Rewards points if you pay with Chase Ink.  They are all eGift Cards.  You can only buy up to $1,000 in gift cards from PayPal Digital Gifts per 30 days so keep that in mind before you purchase.

So, here we go:

$100 Staples Gift Card for $85
Buy a $75 Sephora Gift Card and Get an Additional $15 Gift Card
$50 TGI Fridays Gift Card for $40
$50 Lord and Taylor Gift Card for $40
$50 Gilt Gift Card for $40
$50 Aeropostale Gift Card for $40
Buy a $50 JCPenny Gift Card and Get a $10 Gift Card Free
Buy a $50 Steak N' Shake Gift Card and Get a $10 Gift Card Free
Buy a $25 Legal Sea Foods Gift Card and Get a $5 Gift Card Free

Here is a link to all gift cards sold by PayPal Digital Gifts in case I missed something.

eBay Coupon Code - CMXDAY2 (Dead)

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay, Inbox Dollar, Top Cashback.

Update : Reader Josh reports that PayPal receipt may not be reflecting $100 discount, but that the credit card charge reflects the discount.  I checked my credit card online and it does indeed reflect the discount.

Update 2:  Rumor is that it is up to 5,000 purchases and it only works once per PayPal account.  It takes 15% off up to $100 for anything on eBay!.

Update 3 - Dead!  Congrats to all those who got in!  You can always try just in case it come back.

I don't know what the coupon code is meant for, but reader Josh pointed out that CMXDAY2 is a coupon code that seems to be working for eBay purchases.  It took $100 off the price of the MacBooks I just posted.  It will work on anything in eBay including eBay Gift Cards or any other gift cards.

Don't forget to start with Inbox Dollar or 5% match from Top Cashback.  It will also stack with the Targeted 10% back in eBay Bucks.

Try it on your purchases and see what it does for you.

Please be aware that these purchases are likely to get cancelled.
