Many Gift Cards Going on Sale on eBay (Not Live Yet) - Staples is Useful

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay, Inbox Dollar, Top Cashback

eBay is having a nice sale on some gift cards coming up.  These links will work once the deal goes live.  We won't know the limits until the deal is live.  I don't know how long it will take before it's live but it may be a few days or even a week.  I will put out a new post once I know it is live.  Please let me know with a comment or tweet (@orensmoneysaver) if you see that it is live and I have not posted yet.

For the most part this is good for those that are interested in using the gift cards, but there are some reselling moneymakers, especially if you count the 5% from Inbox Dollar or a 5% match from Top Cashback.

These are sold by PayPal Digital Gifts so they should qualify for 5x Ultimate Rewards points if you pay with Chase Ink.  They are all eGift Cards.  You can only buy up to $1,000 in gift cards from PayPal Digital Gifts per 30 days so keep that in mind before you purchase.

So, here we go:

$100 Staples Gift Card for $85
Buy a $75 Sephora Gift Card and Get an Additional $15 Gift Card
$50 TGI Fridays Gift Card for $40
$50 Lord and Taylor Gift Card for $40
$50 Gilt Gift Card for $40
$50 Aeropostale Gift Card for $40
Buy a $50 JCPenny Gift Card and Get a $10 Gift Card Free
Buy a $50 Steak N' Shake Gift Card and Get a $10 Gift Card Free
Buy a $25 Legal Sea Foods Gift Card and Get a $5 Gift Card Free

Here is a link to all gift cards sold by PayPal Digital Gifts in case I missed something.

Analysis

Check out Gift Card Wiki for current reselling prices.

Staples is good for reselling merchandise so that is a winner in my book especially since you aren't sacrificing anything in terms of Ultimate Rewards points.  Can be sold to CardCash for 81%, but that's not really worth it for most people.  With the portal being 5% and Chase Ink points some might find it worthwhile.  I would like to use for merchandise.

Sephora can be sold for 80.5% to SaveYa and it is 83% off.  Not horrible.

We've killed TGI Fridays.  Used to sell for 80-81%.  Now selling around 70% for physical and 60% for digital.  No thanks

Lord and Taylor around 76%.  No thanks.

JC Penny around 75.5%.  No thanks again.

Aeropostale around 66%.  Uch!

Legal Sea Food - 65% - No thank you.

Steak N' Shake 60% - Oh man, that's low

Bottom line is that Staples is the only one that is interesting unless you shop at the other place.  I'm sure Staples will also sell out the fastest.
