$50 Sign Up Bonus for Fidelity American Express
HT - Points Centric
Fidelity American Express is one of my favorite credit cards to use. It's kind of a boring card so it doesn't get as much attention as it deserves. In addition, there is usually no sign up bonus but it's my trusty old card that's always in my wallet and I use it to buy American Express Gift Cards as well.

Serve and Fidelity Becoming Best Buds - Buy a RedBird on Ebay!
Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site: Top Cashback
As reported in many Blogs over the weekend, starting April 16th you can no longer load funds to Serve via Visa, Mastercard or Discover cards. American Express cards still work, but most do not earn any rewards for loading, though they may count towards minimum spending for sign up bonuses.
The one exception is the Fidelity American Express which is my favorite everyday expenses credit card. If you still want Serve, you should get a Fidelity American Express.
In case you live near a Target, but not in a state that sell RedBird cards, you are in luck. An entire business has sprung up on the internet of people buying temporary cards with $1 loading on them selling them on Ebay for $30-$50.
You will even get Ebay bucks for the purchase and 1.5% cashback from Top Cashback if you go there first. I bought three myself for various family members. It was quick and easy. You will usually get a picture of the card the same day and that's all you need! Here is one example for $37 until it is sold. Update: Reader Coptermedic points out that Reddit User HonestlyTho has a very good reputation on Reddit and sells RedBirds on his site for $25.
If you have no other way of getting one, it's worth it. 1 month of loading RedBird with a Fidelity American Express will net you $100, $160 if you load via American Express Gift Cards at the current rate.

Using American Express Gift Cards for RedBird
Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site: Top Cashback

Ever since I have gotten RedBird it has instantly become part of my inner circle of cards. Don't worry, it's a big circle. RedBird allows me to create $5,000 of Manufactured Spending fee free every month. Since my wife has one as well, that's doubled to $10,000 a month.
Loading is quick and easy. It usually takes me about 20 minutes door to door to get to Target, load and come back home. The Target employees are always very helpful and never look at the name on the card even when I hand them two. If I put $10,000 a month on my Fidelity American Express that's $200 a month of free money!
But you know me, I'm always thinking, Can we do better? So, can we do better? The answer, of course, is yes!
I've posted many times about American Express Gift Cards. One of their best uses is to load money onto RedBird. Here is how it works:
1) Start at Top Cashback and then go to the American Express Gift Card website.
2) Buy AMEX gift cards with your Fidelity American Express
3) Use your Gift cards at Target to load RedBird.
4) Rinse and Repeat next month
Top Cashback lately has a baseline payout of 1.5% for American Express Gift Cards and sometimes it goes up to 2.25%.
Assuming a 1.5% payout, you will still get your 2% cashback from Fidelity. The best way to maximize fees is to buy 5 $2,000 gift cards at a time ($3,000 gift cards seem to no longer payout on portals).
Fees come out to $28.70. You get $200 cashback from Fidelity and $150 from Top Cashback or $350 total. After fees, it comes out to $321.30 or 3.21%.
That's $160 every month for every RedBird you have. If you have two cards like me, you will be getting $321.30 every month or $3,855.60 a year!
If you can buy in at 2.25% payout, it's even better for the same amount of work.
Your fees come out to the same $28.70. You get $200 cashback from Fidelity and $225 from Top Cashback or $425 total. After fees, it comes out to $396.30 or 3.96%.
That's $198 for every RedBird you have. If you have two cards like me, you will be getting $396.30 every month or $4.755.60 a year! Realistically, you aren't likely to get a full year's worth at the 2.25% cashback and even the 1.5% may disappear at some point, but I will enjoy it until it goes away.

American Express Gift Cards - 2.25% from Top Cashback - Today Only!
This deal happened about a week ago and it is back. Hopefully it becomes a weekly trend!
Until the rest of 12/31, Top Cashback is offering 2.25% cashback for buying American Express Gift Cards. This is a very good sign considering there was a time when American Express Gift Cards disappeared from all the shopping portals.
American Express Gift Cards have long been one of my best buds in the manufactured spending world. Unfortunately, with the demise of Amazon Payments, they are far less useful, but they still can have their uses.
What Can I Do With This Deal?
The maximum you can buy per person is $10,000 per 15 business days (this is new). If you purchase more than $5,000, your shipment will require a signature upon arrival. If you bought $10,000 last week, you are out of luck for this week. 2.25% is $225 cashback from Top Cashback. Purchase fees and shipping fees come out to $24.75.
Before I get into any heavy math, I will give you a preview of what you will get:
- 4.2% cashback everywhere or $135.50 with a Fidelity American Express.
- Meet a spending threshold and make $35 on a 1% cashback card
- "Buy" your favorite miles for under a penny per point.
1) Fidelity American Express
- 2% cashback everywhere. For a $10,024.75 order, this comes out to $200.50 from Fidelity and $225 from Top Cashback. After fees, this comes out to about $425.50, which is 4.2% cashback to spend anywhere. Not too shabby!
2) Meet a Spending Threshold
- Recently signed up for a credit card and need to spend money to get the bonus? Me too! You can buy these gift cards to put money on your credit card now and use these gift cards over time.
- Assuming your credit card gets 1% cashback on every purchase, you will get $100 cashback from your credit card and $225 from Top Cashback for a total of $325 after fees or 3.2% cashback while meeting a spending threshold at the same time.
3) Buy Miles Cheaply
- You can take this as an opportunity to buy 10,000 miles on your favorite credit card for a very cheap price. You would want to cash out the gift cards to make it worthwhile. That comes next.
Using American Express Gift Cards
What should you do with these gift cards once you buy them?
- Spend them like an American Express credit card. You can buy three $3,000 gift cards and one $1,000 card. I recommend not using them on any purchase that you might want to return so that you don't have to keep track of them later.
- Cash out. I don't know of any way to do this cheaply. You can use Google Wallet to send money to a friend (read: my wife) who can then withdraw to a bank account. This costs a whopping 2.9% or $290. You will keep about $9,710 of the $10,000.
- With Fidelity American Express you will end up keeping about $135.50 for about half an hour of work.
- If you are meeting a spending threshold on a 1% card, you will be $35 ahead and still be $10,000 closer to your target
- If you are buying miles, you will be getting 10,000 miles at a fee of $0.0065 per mile.
- You are "buying" 10,000 miles for $65 after fees
No promo codes! Your cashback from Top Cashback will be invalidated.

$50 Signup Bonus for Fidelity American Expre
Fidelity American Express is one of my favorite credit cards to use. It is the Sarah Plain and Tall of credit cards so it doesn't get as much attention as it deserves. There is usually no sign up bonus, but it's my trusty old card that's always in my wallet. In fact, when I am asked what is the one card I should get, I will usually tell people to get this card and have a Visa as a backup for when American Express isn't accepted.
There are no rotating bonus categories or any special purchases. The reward is 2 points for every dollar you spend. When you redeem your points into a Fidelity Account 5,000 points will equal $50 so it is a true 2% cashback credit card. Every purchase gets two points and there are no limits to how many points you can earn.
Right now, you can get a $50 sign up bonus if you spend $500 in the first 60 days. If you have been thinking about this card, now is the time to get it.
Sign up for a Fidelity account (free with no account minimums) and then sign up for the Fidelity American Express and get yourself a great card with a sign up bonus.

Loading Serve with Fidelity American Express - Still No Cash Advance Fees
Recently, many credit cards have coding loads to Serve as Cash Advances, which carries a fee and makes it not worthwhile.
I have always used my Fidelity American Express (2% cashback everywhere) to load to Serve for myself and family members and I am relieved to report that loads are working as normal.
Serve allows for $1,000 a month of free credit card loads ($1,500 if you link Serve to Softcard) so if you use your Fidelity AMEX you will get a free $20-30 per month with no fees.

13.5% off Dunkin' Donuts Gift Cards from Raise - Today Only
Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site: Raise and Top Cashback
Raise.com sells gift cards to retailers at a discount. They run almost weekly weekend sales where you can get an extra 5% off on top of the regular prices on select gift cards. I usually don't pay attention to them because they are companies that Raise is trying to reduce inventory on so they aren't usually exciting.
Keep in mind that the base price for the gift changes with inventory so I will list its current price, but it might not be the same if you try to buy it

American Express Gift Cards 4.66% Everywhere!
For the next 6 days, Top Cashback is offering 3% cashback when you purchase American Express Gift Cards.
If you use your American Express Fidelity to pay, you will get 4.66% cashback on a $5,000 purchase of gift cards after all fees. That is pretty good.
I use AMEX Gift Cards for my everyday spending, unless I can get more than 4.66% cashback.
American Express is no longer fulfilling portal payouts when coupon codes are used, as has been publicized in the Blogosphere by Frequent Miler and Doctor of Credit, among others. However, when you don't use a promo code you will still get your cashback (confirmed myself).
Promo codes were great to take off the purchase fees or the shipping fees. Since you can buy $5,000 worth of American Express gift cards with just $8 in purchase fees and $9 in shipping fees, your total fees will come out to 0.34% of the total purchase price. While this is tragic, it is certainly not devastating and doesn't change my plans, American Express is just giving me as little less money than usual. I'm crying inside.
Remember that if you signed for a free shipping plan ($99 a year), the free shipping will not void your cashback.

American Express Gift Cards - 3.5% from Big Crumbs
Update 5/6/2014: Cashback is down to 2.45% on Big Crumbs and 2% on Top Cashback
Big Crumbs has increased the payout rate for American Express gift cards to 3.5%.
If you use your American Express Fidelity to pay and promo code FPMOM (promo code works until 5/15), you will get 5.3% cashback on a $5,000 purchase of gift cards.
If you want more info, you can see my other post where Top Cashback is offering 3% (today is the last day for that). In addition, you can get up to 6.4% back using the Barclays Arrival Card.

American Express Gift Cards - 3% Cashback from Top Cashback
Update: Coupon code MOMCNL will remove purchase fees until 5/31/2014. Shipping fees still apply.
American Express Business Gift Cards can now be bought without any purchase fees. Purchase fees are only $8.95 for $5,000 of gift cards if you buy one $3,000 gift card and one $2,000 gift card. You need to use promo code HEARTCC1.
The fees equal .18% of the total.
For this reason, American Express Gift Cards are fast becoming one of my favorite ways of manufactured spend. There is almost no alternative that is this easy and costs this little.
In addition, Top Cashback will give you 3% back for buying the gift cards if you start there first.
Here is the math for what this deal can do for you:
Scenario 1: Fidelity American Express (2% back on every purchase).
Let's say you max it out at $5000 in gift cards. Your total charges will come to $5008.95.
- $150 will come to you from Top Cashback
- $100 will come to you from Fidelity American Express
- $8.95 fee for buying the cards
Bottom Line - $241.05 net after fees or 4.82% on your purchases with the gift cards. Not too shabby!
Scenario 2: American Express Starwoods (Let's say you're a miles man)
Same thing: Max out at $5000. Total charge is $5008.95
- $150 will come to you from Top Cashback
- 5,009 starpoints from American Express Starwoods
- $8.95 fee for buying the cards
Bottom Line - $141.05 net after fees + 5009 starpoints If you do this 4 times you will have $560 and 20,000 starpoints which can be redeemed for 25,000 miles on many airlines.
Amazon Payments - You can send up to $1,000 a month to a friend with a credit card, including American Express gift cards.
Buy Vanilla Reloads/Visa Gift Cards - You should be able to use these cards to buy Visa gift cards which can be loaded onto Bluebird at Walmart. Add 1% in fees for this option.
Google Wallet - if you have a Google Wallet account, you can send money via email with a credit card to anyone and that person can withdraw to a checking account. The problem is that the fee is a whopping 2.9%, which negates most of your cashback.
That being said, you will still net over $100 with the Fidelity American Express without having to spend any money. With a points card, you end up getting 5,000 points for just about nothing.
Warning! Don't use a Citibank Credit card as they may code it as a Cash Advance so you will get a fee and no points. American Express and Chase cards are safe.

$75 Bonus for Fidelity American Express
Fidelity American Express is one of my favorite credit cards to use. It's kind of a boring card so it doesn't get as much attention as it deserves. In addition, there is usually sign up bonus so I don't talk about it too much, but it's my trusty old card that's always in my wallet. In fact, when I am asked what is the one card I should get, I will usually tell people to get this card and have a Visa as a backup for when American Express isn't accepted. There are exceptions, of course, but it shows you how much I like this card.
Right now, you can get a $75 sign up bonus if you spend $500 in the first 60 days. If you have been thinking about this card, now is the time to get it.
Sign up for a Fidelity account (free with no account minimums) and then sign up for the Fidelity American Express and get yourself a great card with a sign up bonus.
