Need to Use Up Those eBay Bucks? Discounted Staples Gift Cards are One Idea

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site: eBay

Many of you have eBay Bucks to use which will expire soon.

If you can't think of anything to buy, you can buy Staples eGift Card.  You will pay $100 for $110 of Staples Gift Cards.  These are eGift Cards which are sold by PayPal Digital Gifts.  Keep PayPal limits in mind.

If you are looking to make a purchase at Staples, buy these first with Chase Ink.  You should still get 5x Ultimate Rewards points, 2% in eBay Bucks and a portal.  If you pay with eBay Bucks you won't get portal points if my memory serves me right but I might be wrong.  Always worth a shot.

Any other ideas? Post them in the comments!  Thanks

No brainer unless you want to wait for increased eBay Bucks.

Can't Find Enough to Buy on eBay with 4x eBay Bucks? Lock in Great Savings at Staples with eGift Cards on eBay

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay, Amazon, Shop at Home

HT - Ryan

If you can't think of what to buy on eBay and you don't want your 4x eBay Bucks to go to waste, you can buy Staples eGift Cards from PayPal Digital Gifts on eBay.

There is a maximum of 5 Staples Gift Cards that you can use on any purchase.  They sell denominations as high as $100 on eBay so be aware of that.

You will earn 8% eBay Bucks and 5x Ultimate Rewards points if you use Chase INK so there is little downside if you know you can use the gift cards.  You should also earn 2% from ShopAtHome.com. Physical gift cards excluded from cashback, but eGift Cards are not.

You can always buy an iPad (or 2!) this week from Staples since they are on sale and it can really juice up your margins.  You will still earn your regular Staples Rewards and portal points when you pay with gift cards.

Staples Gift Cards Can Be Used to Buy Visa Gift Cards In Store - If They Let You

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  Raise

This may not be old news to many of you, but some may not know that the Staples register actually allows you to buy Visa Gift Cards.  If you check Frequent Miler Labs, you will see it mentioned there as well.

Most cashiers are trained to not allow it, but every once in a while you might find someone who lets you do it.

Today was one such day for me:

Gift Card Wiki is Really Powerful!

Update:  After posting on Twitter, Chasing the Points pointed out that I may have the incorrect filter.  When I changed on Raise from View 25 to View All, the higher denomination gift cards showed up as well. I don't know why they don't show up when you filter based on value.  I would think the highest denominations would be in the top Top 25 when you filter based on value, but for some reason they are not.  Lesson learned, always change to view all when on Raise

Recently, Miles to Memories introduces Gift Card Wiki to the blogosphere.  See here and here.

I tried it and saw that some information was not updated yet and good old Gift Card Granny was more correct.  I concluded that for now I need to check both to be sure because others were still having more success with Gift Card Wiki.

This morning, I saw how powerful Gift Card Wiki is.

I was searching for some Staples discount gift cards.  I went directly to Raise to see their prices.
I like to buy my gift cards off of Raise because they allow me to use American Express Gift Cards.  This adds an extra 1.9% cashback to the transaction (2.25% from Top Cashback with free shipping minus activation fees).

Raise showed me that I could buy Staples Gift Cards for 6.9% off, but the highest denomination was $100

That's a nice discount, but I like high denomination gift cards since Staples only allows 5 gift cards per transaction.

I checked Gift Card Wiki and this is what I saw:

Wow!  All these high denomination gift cards showed up from Raise.

I clicked on one (The second to last one) and it took me directly to that gift card on Raise

I was able to add it to my cart.  Wow!  Even raise couldn't find that card and Gift Card Wiki found it!
I didn't buy it yet so that I could see if Gift Card Granny could do the same.

I then went to Gift Card Granny to see if I could duplicate the success.

Here is what I see:

They also found high denomination gift cards, including the same one I clicked on before.

When I clicked on it from Gift Card Granny, instead of taking me directly to the gift card, it took me to Raise's site with all of their Staples Gift Cards.

Once again, Raise couldn't find anything higher than $100.

Gift Card Wiki was more powerful than Gift Card Granny and even Raise in finding Raise Gift Cards.  It isn't perfect, but it is a great tool to check.

Up to 3x eBay Bucks - Targeted - Start Using Those Discounted eBay Gift Cards!

Check your emails for an offer from eBay for extra eBay bucks. One of my accounts was targeted and one was not.

3x eBay bucks on any item of $50 or more.

Recently, there have been targeted eBay Bucks offers of up to 5x so this is not as good as previously, but it is still a great deal.  Sale continues until the end of June 19th.

Check out Doctor of Credit's post on targeted eBay Bucks promotions.

This a multiplier of the regular 2% eBay Bucks so 3x is actually 6% in eBay Bucks!

No eBay bucks given for eBay gift cards, but most other purchases earn them. eBay bucks can be used for later purchases and can be very valuable, especially when buying discounted gift cards.

I've earned over $150 eBay bucks since April which I will be able to use starting July 3rd.

There have been a few deals recently to buy discounted eBay gift cards (20% off any purchase and 10% off from Gyft which is still going on).  Now is the time to start using those gift cards.

Don't have anything to buy?  You could always buy Staples eGift Cards from PayPal Digital Gifts with your Chase Ink.  You will still get 5x points from Ultimate Rewards (if you aren't using an eBay Gift Card) and extra portal cashback.

One Crazy Day of MS Activities...

Today was a majorly hectic day for Manufactured Spend activities for me.

  • It all started with this post from Doctor of Credit.  eBay was offering 20% off any item with a maximum discount of $80.
    • I tried to buy eBay gift cards, but PayPal hates me, sometimes.  I wasn't able to buy anything sold by PayPal.  Instead I bought $400 of Staples gift cards sold by Gift Card Mall for $330.32 which is 17.4% off because of shipping fees.
      • I also earned $6.60 in eBay Bucks and $3.63 from Top Cashback.  That was a great start to the day!
      • The deal went dead before I could post about it.  It came back again, but died very quickly again

Today was a Great Day of Deals....

There were a bunch of great deals that came out today.  Here are the highlights:

Using Your Targeted Extra eBay Bucks - Staples eGift Cards from Paypal Digital Gifts

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay and Top Cashback

Yesterday, I wrote that I was targeted for an extra 4x eBay Bucks for a total of 8% in eBay Bucks on purchases over $100 or more.

I didn't really find anything worthwhile to buy so I was going to not buy anything, heaven forbid.

Turnover Tuesdays - An iPad Idea for Your Staples eGift Card Collection

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site: Staples, Amazon

For those who are not familiar, I started a series four weeks ago called Turnover Tuesdays. Every Tuesday I would like to highlight one item that I have resold. This will include profitable and non profitable sales. I hope that there is always something to learn.

Week 1 - First attempt at reselling
Week 2 - My second straight fail
Week 3 - My iPad mini collection
Week 4 - Bed Bath and Beyond

Lately, there have been a few deals available to buy Staples eGift Cards at heavy discounts. There was the buy 3 $25 gift cards for $60, buy 3 $75 gift cards for $60 and right now you can still buy 2 $75 gift cards for $65.

Since the last deal is still available as of the writing of this post , let's show how I leveraged it for some relatively easy money (hopefully) and you can do even better.
