MacBook 13" $799 on eBay - Reselling Opportunity, but Not for Everyone

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay, Inbox Dollars, Raise, Amazon

Update: Use coupon code C20OFFSEPT - some are targeted for $20 off and some are not.  HT - Yossie

eBay has a MacBook 13" MD101LL/A for $799 without tax everywhere except NJ.

This has been on sale on eBay numerous times for the same price and because of that, the price on Amazon gone down from a high of about $890 to about $875-$880, but is still a pretty decent seller (#7 in laptops) and makes sense for some people.

There are two listings on Amazon, one allows you to sell as "New" and the other only allows as "Like New".  It has been this way for a few weeks already so I hope nothing changes but it definitely can

FBA fees (before shipping) bring down your takehome to about $820-$825. Amazon could always say you can't sell as new which changes your profit margin, but it hasn't happened yet.

Shipping will be another ~$5 or so.

I would expect prices to drop a little more still with all the previous sales so I wouldn't expect to make much more than $5-$15 on the sale, but it still can make sense because of all the extras but the sale is definitely not for everyone.

So here's the bonus cash:

Start with Inbox Dollars = $41.25.
2% in eBay Bucks = $16
Use up eBay Gift Cards - You can either use eBay gift cards which hopefully you bought at a discount or you can use a credit card that earns 2% which would be another $16

You can buy eBay Gift cards for even greater savings.  You are always able to buy eBay gift cards for 5% off from Target with a Target RedCard.  That's a savings of $40.

You can also buy a $100 eBay gift card for $95 and earn 5x Ultimate Rewards points, but there is a limit of 1.

Overall, you could earn over  $90 per Laptop, over 10%, if you use eBay Gift Cards, that's a big deal.  You can buy 2 for a possible resell value of $180.

Keep in mind that there is a maximum use of $5,000 of eBay Gift Cards per rolling 180 days.  Also, sometimes there is a maximum of 5, 7, 8 or 9 eBay Gift Cards that you can use in one transaction before the transaction times out.
